    • Decay: Unused ozone naturally reverts to pure oxygen within minutes, increasing the system’s dissolved oxygen levels without leaving toxic residues.

  • Q: How do I determine the correct ozone size for my farm?

    • A: A general rule of thumb for RAS is 10-15g of ozone per 1kg of feed per day, or roughly 1-2g per ton of water for disinfection. However, exact sizing depends on your bio-load and temperature. Please contact YUTANK engineers for a calculation based on your specific stocking density.

  • Q: Is ozone dangerous to my fish?

    • A: Ozone is safe if controlled correctly. We strongly recommend using an ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) controller to maintain levels between 250-350mV. Additionally, ensuring water passes through a degassing tower or biofilter after ozonation ensures no residual ozone reaches the culture tanks.

  • Q: Can I use this with a standard air pump?

    • A: For small units, dry air is acceptable but less efficient. For industrial efficiency, we recommend using a PSA Oxygen Generator as the feed source. Using pure oxygen increases ozone concentration significantly and prevents the formation of nitric acid byproducts found when using humid air.

  • Q: Does this replace the UV Sterilizer?

    • A: While both disinfect, they work differently. Ozone physically removes solids and organics (improving clarity) which UV cannot do. UV is a passive sterilizer. Many high-end RAS systems use both: Ozone for water clarity/primary disinfection, and UV as a final safety polish.
