Honeycomb Structure PP Fish Tank
Self-Supporting Double-Wall Tank for Large-Scale Aquaculture The YUTANK Honeycomb Structure PP Tank is engineered to replace traditional concrete and galvanized steel tanks in modern high-density fisheries. Utilizing an innovative interlocking “honeycomb” panel design formed by one-piece thermal molding, this tank provides exceptional structural rigidity without external metal reinforcement. Its double-wall construction creates a thermal break, significantly reducing energy costs for heating or cooling water.
Maximum Strength: Self-supporting honeycomb ribs withstand high hydrostatic pressure for volumes up to 440m³.
Thermal Insulation: Hollow wall structure minimizes heat exchange, maintaining stable temperatures for sensitive species like eel and shrimp.
Corrosion Proof: Food-grade PP material with EPDM double-flange seals ensures zero leakage and immunity to saltwater corrosion.

Product Positioning & Application The Honeycomb PP Tank is YUTANK’s flagship solution for Factory-Scale High-Density Aquaculture. It is specifically designed for commercial grow-out of high-value species (e.g., Eel, Trout, Sea Bass, White Shrimp) that require large water volumes and stable environmental conditions. It is widely used in indoor industrial RAS facilities and large-scale outdoor nurseries.
Structure & Working Principle
Honeycomb Technology: The panels utilize a hollow, interlocking geometric structure. This maximizes the stiffness-to-weight ratio, allowing the tank to support massive water loads without deformation or the need for heavy steel frames.
Modular Assembly: Panels are connected via high-strength bolts. The “Double-Flange” sealing system combined with EPDM liners ensures a watertight seal that accommodates thermal expansion and contraction.
Core Advantages & Differences
Energy Saving (Thermal Insulation): The air gap within the honeycomb wall acts as a natural insulator. For species like Eel requiring heated water (23-25°C), this structure reduces heating energy consumption by significant margins compared to single-wall tanks.
Solved the Rust Problem: Unlike galvanized tanks which often corrode within 2 years in saline environments, the Honeycomb PP tank is inherently corrosion-proof, offering a lifespan of 10+ years even in harsh coastal conditions.
Hygiene & Biosecurity: The smooth, food-grade PP interior prevents pathogen accumulation and abrasion injuries to fish, unlike the rough surfaces of concrete or oxidized metal.
Compatibility & Integration Designed to work seamlessly with YUTANK Large-Flow Drum Filters and Oxygen Cones. We can pre-fabricate nozzle openings and drainage sumps (fish toilets) based on your specific piping layout for plug-and-play integration.
Q: Can these tanks be installed outdoors?
A: Yes. The PP panels are treated with UV stabilizers to prevent degradation from sunlight. However, for maximum lifespan in extreme tropical UV index areas, a sunshade or roof structure is recommended to protect the equipment and the fish.
Q: How complex is the installation? Do I need welding?
A: No on-site welding is required. The tanks use a bolted assembly system. We provide detailed CAD drawings and installation manuals. A team of 3-4 workers can assemble a 100m³ tank in approximately 2-3 days using standard tools.
Q: What is the difference between this and the standard PP tank?
A: The Standard PP tank uses a single-layer panel, often suitable for smaller volumes or hatcheries. The Honeycomb tank uses a double-layer hollow structure, which is much stronger (self-supporting for large diameters) and offers thermal insulation, making it better for large-scale grow-out.
Q: Can you customize the height and diameter?
A: Yes. While we have standard molds (e.g., 1.25m, 1.4m, 2.5m heights), we can configure the diameter to fit your specific building footprint. Please provide your available floor area and target water volume for a custom proposal.
