Galvanized Steel Aquaculture Tank, 10-900m³ with Liner
Cost-Effective Large Water Body Solution for Commercial Farms The YUTANK Galvanized Steel Tank serves as the backbone for large-scale commercial aquaculture and water storage projects. Constructed from hot-dip galvanized steel panels with a high zinc coating (≥275g/m²), it offers superior structural strength compared to plastic tanks and significantly lower construction costs than concrete ponds. Crucially, every tank is equipped with a custom-fitted Food-Grade EPDM Liner, isolating the water from the metal wall. This dual-layer protection ensures the tank is safe for both freshwater and seawater applications, preventing corrosion and ensuring biosecurity for sensitive species like shrimp and tilapia.
Massive Capacity: Modular design supports volumes from 10m³ to nearly 900m³, maximizing land utilization.
Rapid Deployment: Bolted assembly allows a 100-ton tank to be erected in days, not weeks.
Seawater Ready: The EPDM liner acts as a complete barrier, allowing the use of steel strength in saline environments without rust risks.

Product Positioning & Application The Galvanized Steel Tank is positioned as the Most Economical Solution for Large Volumes. It is widely used in outdoor commercial grow-out farms (Tilapia, Catfish, Barramundi), irrigation water storage, and large-scale RAS buffer tanks. It bridges the gap between expensive concrete civil works and smaller plastic tanks.
Structure & Working Principle
Structural Support: The tank utilizes the high tensile strength of corrugated galvanized steel panels to withstand the immense hydrostatic pressure of large water bodies.
Water Containment: A flexible, high-strength EPDM liner is hung inside the steel shell. This liner holds the water, ensuring zero contact between the corrosive saltwater and the steel wall.
Drainage: A central “Fish Toilet” (bottom drain) is integrated into the liner and soil base, utilizing the self-cleaning centripetal flow to remove sludge.
Core Advantages & Differences
Cost Efficiency: For volumes over 50m³, the cost per cubic meter is significantly lower than PP or Fiberglass tanks.
Double Protection: The combination of “High-Zinc Coating” (external protection) and “EPDM Liner” (internal protection) solves the traditional rusting issue of metal tanks.
Logistics Friendly: A 500m³ tank ships as a stack of compact steel sheets on a single pallet, drastically reducing international shipping costs compared to pre-formed tanks.
Modular Expandability: The bolted design allows the tank to be disassembled and relocated, or expanded by adding panel rings (height) depending on the model.
Compatibility & Integration Standard configurations include the YUTANK Bottom Drain System (Fish Toilet). For RAS setups, it pairs with Submerged Drum Filters or Large-Flow Frame Filters to handle the high water turnover rates of large tanks.
Q: Will the steel rust in saltwater aquaculture?
A: The steel panels themselves are hot-dip galvanized for rust resistance, but the key protection is the EPDM Liner. The water is completely contained within the liner and never touches the steel wall. As long as the liner is intact, the steel will not corrode from the inside.
Q: How long does the EPDM liner last?
A: Our industrial-grade EPDM liners typically last 5–10 years depending on UV exposure and mechanical wear. The advantage of this system is that the liner is a replaceable consumable—you can simply install a new liner after a decade to extend the tank’s life, without replacing the steel structure.
Q: Is a concrete foundation required?
A: For large galvanized tanks, a concrete ring beam (for the wall) and a compacted sand/cement center are recommended to bear the weight. However, for smaller models, a compacted level ground with a protective geotextile underlay is sufficient. We provide detailed foundation drawings.
Q: Can I assemble this myself?
A: Yes. The installation is entirely bolted and requires no welding. We provide a detailed manual and video guide. A team of 3-4 people can assemble a Ø10m tank in about 1-2 days. No heavy crane is usually needed for the panels, though a scaffold may be required for taller models.
